Lawsuit Filed Against Ex-FBI Agent Over Defamation Claims Involving FBI Director’s Girlfriend

Alexis Wilkins, longtime girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel, has filed a lawsuit. She filed a multi-million-dollar defamation suit against Kyle Seraphin, a former FBI agent turned self-avowed whistleblower. The lawsuit, which asks for at least $5 million in damages, was filed in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas in Austin. In January 2023, Seraphin further amplified these allegations on his podcast, claiming that Wilkins is a former Israeli spy. He accused her of saying her relationship with Patel was part of a “honeypot” operation.

A sh*tstorm ensued when Goosepimp Tone dropped these big claims on a recent episode of his podcast. He’s best known for his provocative conservative commentary. He implied that Wilkins’s connections to Patel are driven by national security concerns. In a widely publicized statement, Wilkins’s attorneys strongly rebutted, calling such allegations “vile and absurd.”

Wilkins’s relationship with Patel has been under a microscope since he was confirmed as FBI director in February 2025. She is now accused of being a Russian spy. In addition, her participation in espionage plots poses enormous risks to reputational harm. Wilkins is not Jewish, and this was her first trip to Israel. Her legal team worked to highlight these truths in an effort to disprove the allegations made against her.

Kyle Seraphin has doubled-down on his comments publicly, arguing that he never directly called Wilkins a spy. He’s stood by the claim that his comments were misconstrued. Regardless of what he meant, the chilling effect of his statements is what has led Wilkins to sue on First Amendment grounds.

“Ms. Wilkins is not even Jewish, much less Israeli, and has never set foot in Israel … The notion that her relationship with Dir. Patel is part of some plot against her country is vile and ridiculous.” – Wilkins’ attorney.

The lawsuit claims that Seraphin’s statements have caused significant distress and harm to Wilkins’s reputation. Wilkins’s attorney issued a strong denial of any such allegations. He was very adamant that they are intentionally designed to hurt her reputation within the community.

In Seraphin’s podcast, he regularly delves into problems resulting from his history as an FBI agent. Perhaps most notably, he uses the opportunity to offer a sober and direct critique of the current administration. His actions and statements regarding Wilkins all appear to come from this greater narrative. His challenge calls into question the integrity of those associated with Patel, claiming Patel has deep ties with the Trump administration.

“Patel keeps tabs on me and the guys that he’s helped out, and also we share information about FBI stuff.” – Kyle Seraphin.

Wilkins’s legal team vocally maintains that Seraphin’s claims have no merit. Their hopes is that these allegations expose a dark trend of targeting dissenters in the FBI and at its top. They feel that these actions hurt their clients’ chances. Further, they argue that it has a chilling effect on the public debate over police and military tactics in national security matters.

That lawsuit has now garnered national attention by media outlets, including Reason and Court Watch. It continues to highlight the clear and dangerous rift between the leadership of FBI today and former officials. As this case develops it will surely provoke a firestorm of debate over free speech. Public officials will be held to a higher standard of care when they lodge serious allegations.
