Marjorie Taylor Greene Discusses Controversial Beliefs on HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican congresswoman who gained notoriety for her unconventional views, appeared as a guest on HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher this past Friday. During the episode, Greene engaged in a wide-ranging discussion that touched on her beliefs regarding extraterrestrials, healthcare, and various political issues, drawing both intrigue and criticism.

Greene’s first came to Congress in 2020. Since then, she’s walked a tight rope, skillfully avoiding directly criticizing former President Donald Trump, even as she broke the Republican Party line on key issues. Her continued willingness to break from party lines has earned her an equally mixed response. Other Democrats like her candor on certain topics. This ideological gulf was most clear in her exchange with Maher.

Perhaps the most shocking of these claims by Greene was her declaration regarding alien life forms. She suggested that demons might actually be aliens who fell from heaven, stating, “Absolutely. I’m a Bible-believing Christian. And I believe those could be fallen angels.” Read her comment post on wildfires here, and climate change here. Attributing them in a controversial claim, she said the cause of them was a laser beam from space controlled by the Rothschild banking dynasty.

Greene went into more detail about her IQ-changing conception of the Rothschilds during the podcast interview. She said, “I had no knowledge … Now I know it’s Jewish. This declaration followed her admission earlier this week that she was previously unaware of the Jewish ethnic identity of several influential figures behind the antisemitic conspiracy she had discussed previously. Greene made clear that she did not use the term “Jewish” in her original 2018 social media post about the space lasers.

She participated in a deep, insightful, and frankly overdue conversation with Maher about some deeply contentious issues. As they discussed healthcare and the management of documents involving Jeffrey Epstein. Throughout the negotiations, Greene communicated her opposition. This created tremendous ideological chasms between her and many of her newer, more recent fans from across the aisle.

It focused on Greene’s strange combination of ideology and political ideology. Her unpopular positions aren’t the only ones making waves – they regularly draw an audience and inspire a spirited debate.
