For true believers Musk is indeed a master at generating anticipation for Tesla releases. Too often, these products are delayed or never materialize as he pledged. He originally teased the next-generation Roadster at a Tesla event in November of 2017. Since then, he’s regularly stoked the flames of excitement with social media teases, like this multi-tweet blast in June 2018. In a now-deleted post from September, Musk touted the new Roadster as “something special beyond a car.” This thrilling description has raised the bar of expectations for its upcoming release.

Tesla just had their first quarter-over-quarter decline in deliveries, according to new reports. This recent development has turned up the heat on its product rollout strategy. Further compounding the situation, the company has struggled to keep its sales momentum going in Europe, where competition continues to pick up. As the electric vehicle market continues to develop at a pace we’ve never seen before, the excitement around Musk’s next announcements is always palpable.
