Tragedy Strikes as Rob and Michele Reiner Found Dead in Los Angeles

Acclaimed director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner lost a beloved family member recently. They were discovered slain inside their Brentwood residence Sunday, December 14th in Los Angeles. Their son, Nick Reiner, has been charged with their murder, sending shock waves throughout the entertainment community.

Rob Reiner, best known for directing the classic rom-com “When Harry Met Sally,” had his mind on his new project. He’s in London making a concert movie, and it’s going to feature the fictional heavy metal band Spinal Tap playing at Stonehenge. This much-expected film has now been postponed indefinitely after the painful news of his death came clanging across the world.

Their daughter, Romy Reiner, found the couple’s bodies when she went to check on them. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death to be “multiple sharp force injuries.” According to police reports, this disclosure resulted in the arrest of her sibling, Nick, who is charged with two first-degree murder counts and possession/use of a hazardous weapon—knife.

Nick Reiner during his court appearance Wednesday, Dec. 17, when he entered no plea. He has been ordered to reappear for an arraignment hearing on January 7.

In the days since this senseless act, tributes have come in from fellow entertainers. “Our hearts are sore over losing him,” wrote Meg Ryan, the star of Reiner’s much-loved “When Harry Met Sally.”

The couple’s other children, Romy and Jake, released a statement regarding their parents’ untimely deaths, expressing their sorrow and asking for privacy during this difficult time.
