Trump Undergoes Annual Medical Exam as Public Awaits Health Details

Just two days ago, Donald Trump, at 78 years old, the oldest president in U.S. history, took the same standard annual medical Friday. The clinical exam took place at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. After spending more than five hours in Puerto Rico, he hopped on Air Force One and flew back to Florida for the weekend.

The former president has a track record of keeping a very close hold as to what is known about his health. Trump’s medical report will mark the first public update since an assassination attempt against him in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July. July 2020 was the month of his final major health spill in a televised interview. After all, he did infamously recite “Person, Woman, Man, Camera, TV” as one of the answers on a cognitive test he claimed to have passed with flying colors.

Dr. Bruce A. Aronwald, who performed the examination, declared at the time that Trump’s physical exams were “unequivocally … in the normal range.” He praised Trump’s significant weight loss and for Trump’s high performance on cognitive exams. As the letter that Trump circulated on his social media platform failed to provide granular details. We still don’t know what his weight, blood pressure, or cholesterol levels are.

“I can confirm the president is in very good shape.” – Karoline Leavitt

And once again, we have learned nothing about Trump’s health, another example of his continued lack of transparency. This trend has marked the course of his entire political career. Even so, undercutting concerns over his health, people close to him have communicated to me that he is in phenomenal shape both mentally and physically.

After Trump went through that medical exam, we know Trump was not a happy camper.

“I have never felt better, but nevertheless, these things must be done!” – Donald Trump

As the public awaits more comprehensive details about the examination results, comparisons with President Joe Biden, who is three years older than Trump, have surfaced. Trump’s health is particularly relevant given that he became the oldest person to take office as president in January 2021. This standing increases worry for his safety.

The new medical report will give further insight into the former president’s condition. This information might help change the way the public perceives him, as he engages in more political activity going forward. Putting aside whether he is 100 times the American political campaigner that DeSantis is, Trump exemplifies that lesson. Yet any surprises discovered during his review would certainly create cause for celebration and debate.
