EGodly Cybercrime Gang’s Sinister Activities and FBI Entanglements Unveiled

EGodly, a triple threat cybercrime syndicate, heaving … stealing their pedalbots, cyber harassing an FBI Agent. Now, after their misconduct came to light due to whistleblowers revealing their illegal activity, they are under intense scrutiny. The collective boasted on their Telegram channel that their crowdfunded group hacked government phone numbers and law enforcement email addresses across Latin America and Eastern Europe. They laundered the proceeds through crypto. Despite the gang's Telegram channel being inactive for the past year, law enforcement agencies remain vigilant as they investigate EGodly's nefarious operations.

EGodly’s website, dataleak.fun, was traced to internet protocol addresses that were registered to DiamondCDN and other companies owned by Edward Coristine. From October 2022 through June 2023, the gang used these services to increase and expand their criminal enterprise. According to the DomainTools historical records, the site was registered in June 2022. Archived versions of the website reveal that it was advertised as providing “outstanding security resources” that would save taxpayer dollars on infrastructure improvements.

Among the gang’s most brazen acts was doxxing the personal information of a specific FBI agent who they believed was actively investigating them. EGodly shared the agent’s phone number and photos of his home over Telegram. Specifically, they posted an audio recording of a particularly obscene prank call to the guard’s private cell phone. They provided a video of the dark clothed stranger driving by the agent's home in Wilmington, DE. When you see that clip in the video, when somebody yells out of the car window, “EGodly says you a bitch!” This video was corroborated by the group’s members going to the same location and matching it up with video footage they had received.

EGodly's involvement in swatting—a dangerous hoax practice where emergency calls are made to send armed officers to targeted addresses—further heightened their profile among law enforcement agencies. This important detail of their operations led them to be one of the main companies responsible for receiving increased scrutiny from government regulators.

The crew was made up of seasoned con artists, lending weight to its audacious promises. EGodly took to promoting his criminal activity on platforms such as Telegram. Law enforcement had to be serious about these threats, because they were genuine threats. At the time of this EGodly, the FBI was conducting an investigation into EGodly, but it’s not clear whether this investigation is still ongoing.

On February 15, 2023, EGodly tweeted his appreciation to DiamondCDN for the assistance they extended him.

"We extend our gratitude to our valued partners DiamondCDN for generously providing us with their amazing DDoS protection and caching systems, which allow us to securely host and safeguard our website," EGodly stated in a post on the Telegram messaging app.

This recognition plays into the greater narrative of EGodly and Coristine’s company that made operating their business remotely possible.

The gang’s activities were not only relegated to online exploits but included real-world intimidation tactics as well. Personal information revealing the identity of an undercover FBI agent. This move just lays bare the shamelessness with which they’re willing to undermine law enforcement authority, along with their willingness to use intimidation or vengeance against people they believe threaten their power.
