DOJ Employee Fired After Throwing Sandwich at Federal Officer

Sean Charles Dunn, a Department of Justice employee, was arrested on multiple charges, including assaulting a federal officer. For this reason, he was fired from his job. Dunn previously served at the DOJ in the criminal division, international affairs section. Now Smith faces a felony federal assault charge after a Sunday night incident outside the U.S.

According to court documents, Dunn was responding to a fight. He allegedly tossed an unopened Subway sandwich — wrapped in paper — at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent. All of this is disheartening to recall now, given that the incident occurred in this city’s Northwest quadrant. It was widely recorded and subsequently tweeted out by FBI Director Kash Patel. Dunn, in a baby pink polo shirt and khaki shorts, jokes with the tightknit group of agents. Out of nowhere, he takes a step back and fires the sandwich directly at the chest of the closest officer.

After the sandwich toss, Dunn tried to escape the area as a minimum of three cops chased after him. He was finally caught following a short foot pursuit. The circumstances surrounding Dunn’s arrest on Wednesday night, and his subsequent termination from the DOJ the next day.

Attorney General Pam Bondi stated Dunn’s employment status at the DOJ, reminding the public that Dunn’s actions were inexcusable to the utmost degree.

“I just learned that this defendant worked at the Department of Justice — NO LONGER,” – Pam Bondi

Bondi was deeply critical of Dunn’s actions. She promised, “You WILL NOT be employed in this administration while you’re disrespecting our government and law enforcement.”

Dunn “confessed” to what he did.

“I did it. I threw a sandwich,” – Detective

This incident has drawn attention to issues within the DOJ, with Bondi describing it as “an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ.”
