We mourn the loss of music supervisor for “American Idol” Robin Kaye and her husband, musician Thomas Deluca. Their corpses were found in their Encino pad in Los Angeles. Officers discovered the 70-year-old spouses with gunshot injuries in different areas of their Louisville residence. This terrifying find has triggered a probe into possible double murder.
Emergency service personnel were summoned to a reported break-and-enter at the pair’s luxurious $4.5 million mansion. On this day, they discovered the bodies of Kaye and Deluca, who were both well-known fixtures in Los Angeles’s vibrant music scene. The initial investigation found no evidence of forced entry and no evidence that anything was amiss before the horrific accident.
The Los Angeles Police Department has named 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian the ultimate suspect in the incident. On July 10, he is accused of breaking into a house and attempting to rob the resident. When Kaye and Deluca challenged him out of the blue, he allegedly shot both of them.
Kaye had a long career in TV, serving as the music supervisor on “American Idol” for its 15-season run. She became known as the go-to person for live-action, popular television shows. Among the most prominent examples are “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Miss Universe,” and “The Singing Bee.” Her groundbreaking contributions to music and entertainment overall commanded the utmost respect and admiration within her sense of industry.
Deluca was a gifted musician in his own right who had recorded two albums, “Down to the Wire” and “Street Rock.” He wrote hits for big names including Kid Rock, Micky Dolenz, and Diesel. His contributions will always be felt in the music community.
In the wake of their deaths, an American Idol spokesperson expressed profound sorrow over the loss of Kaye, stating, “Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her.” The spokesperson further added, “Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”
As the investigation continues, the music community mourns the loss of two influential figures whose contributions shaped the landscape of entertainment. The LAPD continues to follow leads in the murder case as they hope to bring justice for Kaye and Deluca.
