US justice department officials reportedly recently interviewed Ghislaine Maxwell on behalf of the FBI. She is presently serving a 20-year federal sentence for sex trafficking and related crimes at a federal prison in Florida, after her long relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. This news comes on the heels of progress made through the bipartisan investigations into Epstein’s extensive network. His case has garnered widespread public compassion and concern since his death in 2019. Epstein’s death was ruled suicide. Epstein was found dead in his prison cell, where he was awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges. Officially ruled a suicide, his death has generated a wave of conspiracy theories.
Epstein committed the trafficking, sexual exploitation and abuse of hundreds of underage girls. This atrocious conduct resulted in his registering as a sex offender in Florida long before his arrest on more egregious charges. Though his welcome in US business and political circles was warm, his homecoming was controversial. This came after a highly controversial agreement on his previous criminal charges, allowing him to avoid severe punishment.
The surprising, enlightening new interview with Maxwell focuses on her close ties to Epstein and other influential elites. Strikingly, one of those people is Donald Trump. Mark Epstein, Jeffrey Epstein’s brother, stated that Jeffrey had once claimed he possessed damaging information about Trump, raising questions about the extent of their relationship.
“Because Jeffrey said, he said he had dirt on Trump.” – Mark Epstein
Back in May, news leaked that Pam Bondi, former Florida Attorney General, clued Trump in on the hot water. She exposed that his name showed up repeatedly on Justice Department documents linked to Epstein. Not surprisingly, one of the most popular celebrities to appear in these documents was Donald Trump himself. The department chose not to release their investigative files or any other materials surrounding the investigation.
The circumstances around Epstein’s death have only heightened curiosity about the ties he had to powerful figures. Trump’s spokesperson, Steven Cheung, attempted to distance the former president from Epstein’s actions, asserting that “the fact is that the President kicked him [Epstein] out of his club for being a creep.”
This is exactly what Mark Epstein was hoping to find out when he sued Ghislaine Maxwell over his brother’s allegations that Trump raped Epstein’s brother. He promised to look for them if he had the chance.
“I don’t know what it was, but years ago he said he had dirt on Trump.” – Mark Epstein
For now, Maxwell is staring down the barrel of several legal challenges. Her team is set to introduce new exculpatory evidence, arguing that it wasn’t available at the time of her 2021 trial. Ian Maxwell, Ghislaine’s brother, said this should have been public evidence strongly influencing the outcome of her previous court appearances.
“She will be putting before [a] court material new evidence that was not available to the defense at her 2021 trial, which would have had a significant impact on its outcome.” – Ian Maxwell
Because she’s got a slick operation running to just in case — and I mean just in case — get the pardon, Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman of New York. He suggested that if Trump is interested in playing the co-conspirator, he could be the one to provide it.
“Ghislaine is looking for a pardon, and who would be better to give it to her than a co-conspirator now in the Oval Office.” – Dan Goldman
New revelations about the prominent figures’ involvement have only served to deepen public scrutiny over the abusive power dynamic at play within Epstein’s circle. Though investigations are not complete, they show significant links. Those connections matter greatly not only for the people involved, but in shaping the national legal discourse on sex trafficking.
