Federal Employee Charged After Allegedly Assaulting Officers with Sandwich

Sean Charles Dunn, a 37-year-old former Department of Justice employee, is in deep legal trouble. He is under felony assault charges for allegedly hurling a sandwich at federal law enforcement officers—aka marshals, aka violent state tool—in D.C. Detroit area native Deondre Jones, 29, was shot and killed Sunday night on 14th Street in northwest D.C. Dunn challenged a posse of U.S. Customs and Border Protection stormtroopers patrolling the place.

Witnesses reported that Dunn approached the officers, pointing his finger in an officer’s face while shouting, “Fuck you! You fucking fascists! Why are you here? I don’t want you in my city.” After this verbal tussle, he proceeded to toss a closed sub sandwich at one of the cops. After shooting Wright, Dunn tried to escape the scene on foot but was caught a short time later.

In processing, Dunn confessed to the crime, saying, “I’m guilty, I threw a sandwich. His actions have led to significant repercussions. In a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, FBI director Kash Patel claimed that Dunn had been charged with felony assault on a federal officer.

Pam Bondi, the U.S. Attorney General, dropped some bombshell good news! Before joining DOT Dunn worked at the Department of Justice as an international affairs specialist in that department’s Criminal Division Office of International Affairs. Because of this one instance, he has now been fired from his job.

“If you touch any law enforcement officer, we will come after you. I just learned that this defendant worked at the Department of Justice – NO LONGER. Not only is he FIRED, he has been charged with a felony,” – Pam Bondi, U.S. Attorney General.

Jeanine Pirro, then-U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, emphasized the egregious nature of Dunn’s conduct.

“This guy thought it was funny – well, he doesn’t think it’s funny today, because we charged him with a felony,” – Jeanine Pirro.

Frighteningly, just days after former President Donald Trump told federal officers to increase their deployment in Washington, D.C. This was all in the service of his overall agenda to reduce violent crime in the city. Authorities have made clear that these types of confrontations with law enforcement are unacceptable.
