Tulsi Gabbard, the former congresswoman and 2020 presidential candidate, had already faced the big hurdles. She’s attempting to support her outlandish allegations that Barack Obama and his national security team colluded to sabotage Donald Trump’s administration. A recently unclassified annex to John Durham’s report has completely refuted her allegations. This is especially the case when it comes to the idea of a “deep state” that is allegedly attempting to undermine Trump.
Gabbard has been making headlines as if she’s looking to prove what she claims. She points to a 2020 House of Representatives intelligence committee report, which was only endorsed by Republican members. This report challenged the intelligence community’s claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted Trump to win the 2016 election. Since the report didn’t have support from any of the Democratic members, that raises serious questions about the validity of the report.
The newly released 29-page document from Durham concludes that emails purportedly linked to a “Clinton Plan intelligence” were constructed from various individuals’ communications, undermining Gabbard’s narrative. This finding is compounded by evidence suggesting that emails believed to be generated by Russia do not support Gabbard’s claims.
Even John Brennan, the CIA director under Obama, has taken to Twitter to publicly deny Gabbard’s accusations. He further accused Obama of ordering intelligence officials to keep reports of Russian meddling secret until after the election. This amendment was meant to ensure that the integrity of the electoral process was preserved.
“He made very clear to us that he wanted us to try to uncover everything the Russians were doing, but also not to do anything that would in any way interfere in the election,” – John Brennan
Finally, Tulsi Gabbard has been very focused on this idea for the past several years that there exists some kind of organized deep state conspiracy to discredit Trump. In recent months, even some of the intelligence community’s distinguished alumni have decried this idea as a Trump-generated myth. Fulton Armstrong, a former CIA officer, remarked that “Trump is lying when he speaks of a ‘deep state’.”
Along with all of these other challenges, the intelligence community has repeatedly confirmed that Russian interference in the 2016 election. The 2017 intelligence community assessment stated that it had “high confidence” in this finding. That feeling permeated a bipartisan five-volume report produced by a Senate intelligence committee majority and Robert Mueller’s investigation in 2019.
Putin’s desire for a Trump presidency was arguably most revealed during a news conference in 2018. There, under little apparent pressure, he admitted, in no uncertain terms, that he wanted Trump to win. This admission backs up T4America’s own Michael Van Landingham’s discovery. Most disturbingly, he shared that a secret informant told him that Putin ordered an influence operation against Hillary Clinton the moment he identified her as the likely winner.
“The primary evidence to get to Putin’s mindset was a clandestine source that said, essentially, when Putin realized that Clinton would win the election, he ordered an influence campaign against Hillary Clinton.” – Michael Van Landingham
Van Landingham focused on a chain of intersections. Russia’s campaign of election interference included Russian intelligence leaking stolen U.S. materials and these events were critical to their campaign.
“Then we saw a series of events that happened with the hacked US materials by the Russian special services or intelligence services to leak those materials similar to the information a clandestine source had provided.” – Michael Van Landingham
Gabbard’s statements are grave indeed, warning of Russian interference in the election. As the attached intelligence assessments attest, there is a preponderance of evidence that refutes her claims. The cumulative findings are clear that foreign interference was designed to benefit Trump. So it’s not because there’s some sort of conspiracy against him.
