A Journey to New Beginnings: Cepee Tabibian’s Mission to Help Women Move Abroad

Houston entrepreneur Cepee Tabibian is on a mission to inspire and educate women over 30. She helps them navigate the thrilling, tumultuous transition of expat life. Tabibian founded She Hit Refresh, a growing community and resource platform. She’s personally helped hundreds of women directly, guiding them through the logistics and culture shocks of packing up and moving to another country. She has more than ten years of experience living in Spain. With her experience as a writer for CNBC, she’s developed into a trusted voice in the expat community.

Tabibian’s journey started with a place very close to home, as an immigrant herself. As the daughter of Colombian and Iranian immigrants, her upbringing instilled in her an extraordinary love and respect for diverse cultures. After first visiting the Netherlands at 17 years old, Amy knew she wanted to live abroad. It wasn’t until age 35 that she officially took the leap and moved to Spain. She shouldered that responsibility even when she was unsure of herself and without a plan fully formed.

Yet during her time in Spain, Tabibian found her passions for writing, content creation, and community building. Eighteen months after her arrival, she started She Hit Refresh. Her mission was to inspire women to find the tools and community that would support them on their global journeys.

She Hit Refresh provides coaching services that include a masterclass tailored for women who want to go abroad. The platform goes beyond just jobs, offering immersive resources like detailed visa guides and community connections. Whether you’re already on the road or just dreaming of a new life overseas, Tabibian’s stories and insights will encourage and inspire you.

Of the countries Tabibian mentions as incredibly welcoming to American expats goes to Portugal and the Netherlands. She’s quick to point out that both countries are home to strong communities that welcome newcomers.

“It’s hard to find a country more open to expats than Portugal,” Tabibian states, reflecting on her experiences in these welcoming environments.

Beyond those contributions, the Netherlands is known for being expat-friendly. “The Netherlands is known for being very welcoming to expats,” she affirms. People from these countries tend to build social circles that lead to permanent friendships and relationships.

“Tabibian touches on and respects the emotional place most women are in when making such an irrevocable decision. It’s true that uprooting your life is a big decision, but there are so many places that are welcoming to Americans,” she explains.

Most importantly though, she focuses on what’s working, what’s been successful for those willing to make the jump. “The women I work with typically have no regrets about their decisions to move abroad,” she shares. “If anything, most of them regret not doing it sooner.”

Her commitment to empowering women in their relocation journeys is evident in her book, “I’m Outta Here! An American’s Ultimate Visa Guide to Living in Europe.” Packed with tips, advice and insights, this all-in-one handbook is an essential tool for the adventurous woman considering life and work outside of the country.

Beyond Instagram, Tabibian is consistently on TikTok and YouTube, where she engages with her community. Through tips and stories of her own adventures, she encourages others to pursue their dreams of beginning a new life in a foreign land.
