America PAC is turning heads with its new declaration on X (formerly Twitter). They’ve released a petition with $100 for every Wisconsin voter who agrees to sign it. The petition went live right as voters were casting early ballots in the battleground state of Wisconsin’s fiercely fought Wisconsin Supreme Court contest. It includes an additional $100 for each voter brought in by someone who signs it. This action is part and parcel of former President Donald Trump’s anti-judiciary agenda, claiming that “activist” judges are illegally acting against him.
The timing of the offer is notable, as it comes just two days after early voting started. That competitive race is between challengers Crawford and Republican incumbent Brad Schimel. Schimel, the choice of Elon Musk and their other Republican allies, has been running hard. He’s been on the campaign trail next to Donald Trump Jr. At a recent event, Trump Jr. stressed just how critical Schimel’s election is to protecting his father’s political goals.
The Trump administration is currently embroiled in several lawsuits connected to Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency initiative, which seeks to streamline the federal bureaucracy. As of Schimel’s campaign, America PAC has put more than $13 million in support. Furthermore, Building for America’s Future — yet another Musk-sponsored organization — has poured money into these election efforts.
The petition being pushed by America PAC is indicative of the muscle memory that Republicans still have, jaded by the lash of judicial activism.
"Judges should interpret laws as written, not rewrite them to fit their personal or political agendas. By signing below, I'm rejecting the actions of activist judges who impose their own views and demanding a judiciary that respects its role — interpreting, not legislating."
The Wisconsin Democratic Party just released this new ad. They are charging Musk with attempting to “purchase” the Supreme Court seat for Schimel. Even more troubling, this accusation comes during a time of increased tensions and scrutiny over big money in politics.
Building America’s Future has tried to paint Schimel as a Trump loyalist.
"Present Schimel as a pro-Trump conservative."
Unfortunately, Elon Musk is now part of that discussion. One thing he emphasizes is the importance of a Republican victory for preserving electoral integrity.
"Very important to vote Republican for the Wisconsin Supreme Court to prevent voting fraud."
