The major cultural event “Together for Palestine” will be held at Wembley Arena. It seeks to expose the ongoing illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine and raise awareness about the plight of Palestinians. Our concert will go on amid heartbreaking circumstances, as humanitarian devastation continues in Gaza and resentment against Israel has never been higher. It promises to be the largest cultural mobilization for Palestinian rights since the overthrow started.
Opening the concert will be Francesca Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Albanese, who was recently sanctioned by the Trump administration, has emerged as one of the leading voices for Palestinian rights.
The concert will have an outstanding lineup of artists, with Oscar nominees Benedict Cumberbatch and Guy Pearce. Other iconic headliners include Bastille, James Blake, PinkPantheress, and gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn. Palestinian talents such as Saint Levant and Elyanna will appear. Their performances underscore the concert’s mission to showcase a wide range of voices.
Tony Hollingsworth, a veteran music festival producer, collaborated to put on the event. The final product highlights these creators’ commitment to bringing attention to the ongoing struggle for freedom among Palestinians. Once they found the funding support through NYU and beyond, they struggled to secure a venue for the concert because of the sensitivities around even saying “Palestine.” Hollingsworth remarked on the difficulties faced, saying,
“Alan, you’ve got to bite the bullet.” – Tony Hollingsworth
The concert itself is an important historic milestone. This year’s concert would be 37 years to the day after the original Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium, which reached an inconceivably large worldwide audience of 600 million. In a stunning show of public demand, “Together for Palestine” sold out all 12,000 seats in two hours.
The purpose of the event is not just to entertain — it’s to raise awareness about the current crisis in Palestine. It connects artists and activists to one another. Civil society, especially youth across geopolitical divides, unite in solidarity and are mobilized to act on a cause that speaks to the hearts of people everywhere.
As the date nears, excitement intensifies for artists and attendees, making it not just a festival, but a real celebration. Featured high-profile artists and special spokespersons will help to raise the profile of concert and spread its powerful message. Their participation is sure to bring global scrutiny to the plight of Palestinians.
