Donald Trump, our 45th President, just underwent his annual health examination. The results returned, and he has a clean bill of health! That assessment was done by his White House physician, Sean Barbella. It focused on Trump’s mental and physical health, deodorizing his image, promoting his active lifestyle jammed packed with public outings and golf championships.
Further down, the report claims, “President Trump continues to enjoy extraordinary overall health with a strong cardiovascular, generated pulmonary, neurological, and physical processes.” This evaluation comes after a notable cognitive test Trump took in 2020, which involved repeating the words “person, woman, man, camera, TV.” His abysmal result on this one-off test became a complete media experience gold rush at the time.
President Trump’s unconventional views on exercise have sparked curiosity and controversy. In the past, he has shared a lot of ideas that sound like rehashed Victorian-age ideas about exercise. He thinks exercise is a huge misunderstanding of the human condition and that we are born with a fixed amount of energy. This unconventional stance is reflected in his advice from his 2004 book, Trump: Think Like a Billionaire, where he stated, “Don’t sleep any more than you have to.”
Usually, Trump goes to bed around 1am, after sleeping only three or four hours a night. It’s a fancy hotel, but still in a candid moment, he told me, “I’m not a big sleeper, right. I just like three or four hours of sleep. I flip over, want to know what’s going on. Unfortunately, this self-imposed schedule is indicative of the much larger lifestyle choices he’s made — prioritizing productivity over wellness.
In many ways, Trump’s life remains a rejection of traditional ideas of health and fitness. Environmental Health Coalition’s latest health report called it “living.” His typical schedule includes numerous speeches and public appearances that all add up to his overall level of physical activity. The physician’s report suggests that these engagements play a crucial role in maintaining Trump’s vitality.
