FBI Agents Conduct Raid on Former National Security Advisor John Bolton’s Home

On Thursday morning, FBI agents conducted an unannounced raid at the Maryland home of former national security adviser John Bolton. …former national security advisor to President Donald Trump. No surprise that this unique action has garnered so much attention. People are understandably curious given that Bolton has been one of the fiercest anti-Trumpers throughout and after Trump’s presidency. The raid is the biggest news so far in an expanding investigation that only recently has begun to be fully reported.

NBC News reported that the relatively non-controversial raid should be understood in the context of a wider investigation into Bolton’s conduct. Bolton’s politically motivated investigation was ordered by one of Trump’s key aides, Kash Patel. That’s according to an unnamed administration official speaking to The Washington Post. The basis for the investigation remains unknown. It does underscore the labyrinthine challenges confronting people who once occupied the highest positions of the last administration.

Bolton has been an outspoken critic of many of Trump’s foreign policy decisions. He’s emerged as a leading voice in the national opposition to the political discourse around that former president. He was caught by reporters this week after testifying via Zoom to a panel organized by National Council of Resistance of Iran – U.S. Representative Office (NCRI-US). We held this event on August 17, 2022. The gala was held in the grand ballroom of Washington, D.C.’s Willard InterContinental Hotel. There, Bolton went on to loudly criticize pretty much everything in the world pertaining to U.S. foreign policy and national security.

Beyond the legal ramifications of the raid, the timing is particularly curious. Those investigations are continuing. We’re excited to see how this will positively affect Bolton and more like him who helped perpetrate and perpetuate marriages of government that existed strictly to enrich themselves.
