Jiggly Caliente, the beloved drag queen known for her colorful drag and electric spirit, is gone. She passed away on Sunday at the age of 44. Her passing, attributed to a severe infection, occurred at 4:42 a.m. while she was surrounded by her loving family and close friends. Bianca Castro-Arabejo is a visiting artist born November 29, 1980 in Manila, Philippines. As a teenager, she relocated to New York, where she soon became a fixture on the Lower East Side drag scene.
Caliente also became a household name after competing on season four of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She stole the show week after week with her stunning lip-sync performances and quick wit to become America’s sweetheart. Despite struggling with garment construction during some challenges, her charisma and stage presence left a lasting impression on both the judges and audiences. She was eventually cut before making it to the final round but went on to become a star in entertainment.
After making an indelible mark with her personality on Drag Race Season 9, Jiggly Caliente became a recurring judge on Drag Race Philippines. She was scheduled to begin filming on the new season of her hit show. Her impact was more than just the roles she sang. She was a “luminous presence” in both entertainment and advocacy, and she changed millions of lives through her artistry and activism.
Caliente’s family shared their devastation at her passing, putting out a statement that served as a testament to her enduring legacy.

Fellow Drag Race alumna and close friend Michelle Visage expressed her heartbreak over Caliente’s death on social media. As she described her favorite and happiest moments during those weeks together.

In the past few weeks, Caliente fought additional health-related challenges. At around this time, she had to have part of her leg amputated due to an infection.
