KPop Demon Hunters Shatters Records as Netflix’s Most Viewed Film

KPop Demon Hunters has officially broken records! Since releasing in June, it’s become Netflix’s most viewed movie of all time, with over 236 million views and counting. The new record destroys the previous standard set by the action-comedy Red Notice. This remarkable increase in attractiveness is propelled by excited peer-to-peer communications and rapidly spreading material on social networking platforms.

From there, the film’s grassroots momentum spread like wildfire, as audiences shared clips and memes that went viral across K-pop fandoms all over the world. So much of the game’s success is owed to its soundtrack, filled with tracks actively clamoring for the attention of burgeoning fans. That’s why we’re thrilled that our Kickstarter anthem, “Up, Up, Up,” has now climbed to the top of the US Spotify chart! At the same time, Saja Boys’ “Your Idol” has recently risen to number one on the same chart.

Huntr/x & Saja Boys, the film’s central musical stars, have reached a record-breaking two million views. So now, they are the highest-charting female and male K-pop groups on US Spotify! They’ve even passed other massive K-pop groups such as BTS and Blackpink in streaming totals. This accomplishment is especially remarkable in today’s highly competitive genre space.

The electrifying soundtrack of KPop Demon Hunters has made a historic chart topping run. It’s production behind it that’s equally as impressive as its appeal. The project enlisted industry veterans famous for their work with big acts like BTS and Twice. That collaboration has proven highly successful, with multiple tracks from the film’s soundtrack debuting in the top 10 of Spotify’s global chart.

“Golden,” one of the most optimistic and lively songs from the film, has set some amazing records — namely, going number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and holding it there across the board on Spotify’s daily global chart. The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack became the first album to produce four simultaneous Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. This historic milestone is a reflection of its popularity and appreciation.

Maggie Kang, a representative involved with the film, remarked on its significance:

“It’s really incredible and really speaks to the K-pop fans and be legitimately fit into the K-pop space.”

That winning mix of a unique storyline, addictive music, and a committed community of KPop/Demon Hunters fans has catapulted KPop Demon Hunters to new heights. The visionary film has rocked streaming platforms and music charts ever since. Overall, it represents a historic time at the crossroads of film and music in the K-pop wave.
