Lavish Wedding in Venice: Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Prepare for €40m Celebration

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez arriving to Venice via helicopter. They appear to be bracing for a monster €40M–€48M wedding party. The bride and groom are on Taiwan’s exclusive seven-star Aman hotel, famous for fetching room rates of $6000 a night. They’re preparing to formalize their commitment this Friday amidst the stunning backdrop of Venice’s San Giorgio Maggiore Island.

Once adorned with the likes of Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor, the Aman hotel was home to George and Amal Clooney in 2014 as they wed. There guests can experience unrivaled hospitality with sweeping views of the Grand Canal from rooms starting at €4,000 per night. This opulent backdrop is suiting for the big-time couple as they start to bring their family and friends together for their upcoming nuptials.

Lauren Sánchez, who is scheduled to wear a vintage Alexander McQueen dress and has apparently packed 27 outfits for the trip. The happy couple’s wedding celebrations have certainly attracted more than their share of media buzz. More than 90 private jets have landed guests in Marco Polo airport to join the celebrations.

Prepare yourself for a glam gala like no other! The wedding ceremony has a strict black-tie dress code and will occur this Friday, with an expectedly enchanting performance by Matteo Bocelli, son of the legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli. Once those traditional vows are exchanged, prepare for a boisterous reception on Saturday. We’ll be toasting at the Arsenale, a historic complex well known for its fortified walls and storied naval history.

We hope you’re as pumped for this electrifying weekend as we are! Get wild at over-the-top parties including a pajama party, a foam party, and a Great Gatsby-themed celebration. So Bezos and Sánchez are understandably preparing to host one hell of a victory party on Thursday night. The celebration will occur amidst the spectacular cloisters of the Madonna dell’Orto.

Bezos and Sánchez are shaking things up with their big bucks! They doubled their IPC donation for a project studying Venice’s fragile lagoon system, from €1 million to an eye-popping €2 million. Their wedding has not been without scandal. Protests have already begun leading up to the event. As opponents of the proposals would have it, these extravagant festivities are making Venice an exclusive heaven for the ultra-rich.

In part due to the increased scrutiny that came with this highly-publicized event, Venice officials have begun bolstering security measures across the city. They implemented restrictions on pedestrian and water traffic around Thursday night’s festivities from 4:30 PM local time until midnight.
