Marjorie Taylor Greene Announces Resignation from Congress

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced her resignation from Congress, effective January 5, 2026. The Georgia Republican listed a series of issues with President Joe Biden’s administration as the motivation behind her departure. Greene—a resignation that follows months of escalating tensions. Her sticking point led to a fearful standoff with the White House and some establishment Democrats in her own party.

Greene railed against all sorts of policies during her time on the soapbox, blaming them on the Biden administration. She condemned the bad use of H-1B visas for skilled foreign workers. According to her, this practice steals precious job opportunities from Americans. She recently spoke out against a national proposed ban of AI regulations. She claimed that blanket measures like these can suffocate innovation.

The representative pointed to what she called “50-year mortgage scams” as a key concern. Furthermore, Greene raised concerns about U.S. involvement in foreign wars, particularly in light of ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. She made the announcement as part of her plan to combat blackmail, release files associated with Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes. She reiterated that transparency and accountability go hand-in-hand.

In her resignation announcement, Greene mentioned that private security companies had reached out to her with threats to her safety. She is the target of a string of threats, which she says are connected to a “hotbed of threats against me.” She thinks these threats are stoked by the likes of political heavyweights, such as former President Donald Trump.

Despite the controversies surrounding her stance on various issues, Greene won re-election with 64% of the vote in her district. Her close alignment with Trump has grown increasingly controversial. While Trump has recently condemned Greene for allowing the release of Epstein files, the damage was already done. He returned fire on her critique, arguing that she had “lost her way.”

Greene, an outspoken opponent of the Israel-Hamas war, has called the conflict “genocide.” She contended that the White House has kept the legislature out of the loop. She challenged her colleagues to make a collective effort to put American citizens before foreign interests.

“I have fought harder than almost any other elected Republican to elect Donald Trump and Republicans to power … Through it all I have never changed or went back on my campaign promises … America First should mean America First and only Americans First,” – Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Despite Greene’s departure from Congress, this may be only the beginning of her political journey. She is currently charting her course through the mysterious waters of American politics. She promised to fight for every day Americans who felt left behind. She decried, among many other things, what she identified as a pernicious political industrial complex that is tearing apart her native land.

“When the common American people finally realize and understand that the political industrial complex of both parties is ripping this country apart… then I’ll be here by their side to rebuild it,” – Marjorie Taylor Greene.

As she prepares for life beyond Congress, Greene stated her desire to focus on personal matters and live life to the fullest.

“Until then I’m going back to the people I love, to live life to the fullest as I always have, and look forward to a new path ahead,” – Marjorie Taylor Greene.
