Missing Atlanta Boy Found After Seven Years in Colorado

Authorities have located Abdul Aziz Khan, a boy missing from Atlanta for seven years, in Colorado. Deputies discovered Khan, now 14, along with another child in a vehicle parked outside a property. The significant breakthrough came on February 23 when a woman identified as Rabia Khalid, who had an active warrant for her son’s 2017 disappearance, was arrested in an unrelated incident.

The discovery unfolded when a man and a woman emerged from the property, initially claiming to be realtors. However, deputies soon identified the woman as Khalid, wanted in connection with her son's abduction. The US Marshals Service had been assisting in the search for Khan, whose case had been featured on Netflix’s "Unsolved Mysteries," bringing national attention to his disappearance.

Khalid and the man accompanying her faced arrest on multiple charges, including second-degree kidnapping, forgery, and identity theft. According to reports, Khalid allegedly took her son from Atlanta seven years ago. The arrest in Colorado was unrelated to Khan's disappearance but led to his eventual rescue.

Kyle Sawyer, Khalid's attorney, is currently reviewing the case details and preparing to defend her in court. Meanwhile, the boy's family expressed their profound relief at his recovery.

"We're overwhelmed with joy that Aziz has finally been found. We want to thank everyone for their support over the last seven years," said the boy's family.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities piece together the events surrounding Khan's disappearance and subsequent discovery. The case highlights the relentless efforts by law enforcement and the power of public awareness in solving long-standing mysteries.
