A recent release of documents has unveiled the interactions between disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and several prominent conservative figures, including Elon Musk, Steve Bannon, and Peter Thiel. The U.S. Justice Department released six pages of heavily redacted documents to the House Oversight Committee. These depositions are making public previously redacted information related to Epstein’s deep ties to many of the world’s richest and most powerful men.
Not long after, Epstein died by suicide in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges. He was rabidly corrupt in his relationship with the big money elites. In 2000, his manifest showed that Prince Andrew was a passenger on his private plane. This finding shows just how far Epstein’s network reached. Records show that Epstein paid a person identified as “Andrew” for a variety of personal services. These services facilitated massage, exercise, and yoga in that same year.
The House and Senate inquiry into Epstein’s sex-trafficking charges are ramping up. The House Oversight Committee has recently begun to scrutinize the behavior of law enforcement and other government entities. Democrat Robert Garcia, the new mayor of Long Beach, California, is the other member of the committee. He has been particularly vocal about ensuring there’s accountability for how Epstein’s case was mishandled.
Epstein’s calendar is equally revealing when it comes to his personal connections to prominent conservatives. On the morning of February 2019, that was the very meeting he had planned — a breakfast meeting with Bannon. Most notably, there was a lunch with Thiel in November 2017. In December 2014, one of Musk’s proposed trips named him as one who may have traveled to Epstein’s private island. This begs even further questions about their coupling.
In a notable twist, Musk publicly questioned former President Donald Trump’s refusal to release files related to Epstein, adding another layer to the ongoing discourse surrounding the case. So far the investigation has received a lot of attention. Its goal is to shine light not only on the totality of Epstein’s abuse, but the complicity of so many in power.
