Right now, chief Robert Farley of the North Bergen township police department stares down some serious allegations. These include sexual assault and sexual discrimination as workplace harassment. Farley, who assumed the position of chief in February 2024, makes a salary of more than $228,000 annually. He is now facing claims of perpetrating a marathon of grotesque practical jokes on other employees. These allegations have inspired a vigorous internal housecleaning including the use of corporate private detectives. The complaint’s focus — a hostile work environment and potential civil rights violations throughout the department.
In his statement posted on the North Bergen police website upon taking office, Farley expressed his dedication to leading the community with competence and professionalism.
“Like my predecessors, I will strive to lead the officers of our department to be an accessible component of our community while maintaining their competency, transparency, and professionalism,” – Robert Farley
The allegations tell a very different tale. Here are some of the most heinous things Farley allegedly did. He shaved his pubes onto co-workers’ lunches and squirted fluids from his sex toys onto people who sat on his office furniture.
“He was also fond of scraping fluids from his underwear on to people seated in the chief’s office.” – Derrin
Detective Michael A Derin, who witnessed some of the incidents, reported that Farley placed Viagra and Adderall into a communal coffee pot. Additionally, Farley reportedly misused a hypodermic needle on Officer Derin.
The probe has further revealed complaints of retaliation against cops working with internal affairs. FMPD Officer Rashid Siyam joined in on the investigation. He described experiencing racial slurs even from members of his department, such as being called a “camel jockey” and “terrorist.”
Notwithstanding these serious allegations, the Township of North Bergen has continued to express complete public confidence in Robert Farley’s leadership and management skills. Even if the claims against him are unproven, they have raised serious concerns that the claims speak to a toxic culture within the department.
After the arrest, Lt. Alex Guzman went on record with shocking information about Farley’s conduct. He alleged that Farley defecated on the office floor in front of staff members and left feces on the bathroom floor, which employees accidentally stepped in.
“Chief Farley has, on several occasions, pulled his pants down and defecated on the floor in front of his entire office staff.” – Lt Alex Guzman
“He has also left feces on the bathroom floor, apparently with the intent of having someone unknowingly step on it.” – Lt Alex Guzman
This continued investigation aims to answer all of these allegations and find out the truth behind these claims against Chief Farley. The incident underscores the need for creating a safe and dignified workplace culture among police departments.
