Oasis Fans Left Disheartened as Ticketmaster Cancels Tickets Over Bot Claims

Several Oasis fans faced disappointment this week as Ticketmaster cancelled their tickets for the highly anticipated Oasis reunion tour. The cancellations came after allegations surfaced that fans used automated bots to secure their tickets. Among those affected were Leighah Conroy, a 24-year-old fan from Cumbria, and Marta Bonnet from Spain, both of whom had their dreams of attending the Wembley concert on August 3 dashed.

Conroy discovered her tickets had been cancelled when she received an email from Ticketmaster on Friday. Her friend had purchased the tickets in August, but the ticketing giant claimed the purchase was made using bots. Conroy expressed her frustration and confusion over the situation, stating the lack of answers has left many fans feeling helpless.

"A lot of fans are wanting answers as to why this has happened and we've just got no answers whatsoever." – Ms Conroy

Meanwhile, Marta Bonnet faced a similar predicament. Bonnet had spent over £3,000 on tickets for herself, her husband, and their two teenage children. Initially suspecting a phishing attempt, she realized the email was legitimate, leading to feelings of shock and anger. Bonnet dedicated nearly five hours attempting to reach Ticketmaster through email and social media to resolve the issue.

"I know there are a lot of platforms trying to use bots to resell the tickets." – Marta Bonnet

The financial impact on Bonnet's family was significant, with each ticket costing around £150 and the total trip expenses, including hotel stay and travel, amounting to approximately £490 per person. Bonnet and Conroy's experiences reflect the widespread frustration among fans who feel unjustly penalized.

For those who believe their tickets were wrongly cancelled, Ticketmaster has provided a form for review by the tour's promoters. A spokesperson from Ticketmaster clarified the process for addressing these concerns.

"Anyone who has been contacted and believes a refund was made in error has been sent a form to fill in for the tour's promoters to review." – A spokesperson from Ticketmaster

Despite these measures, the emotional toll on Conroy was profound. The cancellation left her feeling devastated.

"It just feels like my dreams have been completely crushed." – Leighah Conroy
