NYC Rapper Sheff G Pleads Guilty His legal name is Michael Williams, and he has been charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder or seriously harm with intent. On Wednesday, the plea was entered in federal court in Brooklyn. This extended plea is one component of an ongoing investigation by the Voice into gang violence in Brooklyn. Best known for his opioids-related millions of YouTube views and Spotify streams, Sheff G accepted a plea deal that sends him to prison for five years.
Prosecutors have alleged that Sheff G used the earnings from his successful music career to fuel gang-related activities in Brooklyn. He allegedly lavished fist-fulls of cash and gold baubles on gang members while they gunned down members of rival gangs in the streets. In addition, Sheff G was the getaway driver in a 2021 shooting that left a rival injured. The bomb attack nearly killed two innocent civilians.
In May 2024, Sheff G made headlines when he was invited on stage by Donald Trump during a campaign rally in the Bronx. Trump touted him as one of the notable figures supporting his campaign. Sheff G had a very publicized come-up, until that all went left. His arrest came after a months-long investigation into a wave of gang-affiliated shootings across Brooklyn.
