A tragic aviation accident on January 29 claimed the lives of 67 individuals when a commercial jet and a U.S. military helicopter collided near Washington DC's Reagan National Airport. Among those who perished was Vikesh Patel, an employee of GE Aerospace. The flight also carried Brielle Magdalena Beyer, a 12-year-old member of the Skating Club of Northern Virginia, traveling with her mother, Justyna. Angela Yang and her dance partner, Michael Stovall, were also on board. Michael, aged 40, was a valued member of the Steamfitter’s Union.

Cory Haynos, a teenage skater from Northern Virginia, was traveling with his parents, Stephanie and Roger Haynos. Melissa Jane Nicandri, a 28-year-old resident of Brooklyn, was on her way back to New York after a work-related trip to Kansas. Lori Schrock, 56, and her husband, Robert "Bob" Schrock, 58, were also among the victims. Lori's childhood friend, Grace Cantrell, expressed heartbreak at their loss.

The U.S. Army issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to assisting recovery efforts and cooperating with investigative agencies to uncover the causes behind this tragic incident.
