Trump Addresses Epstein Links, Ukraine Deadline, and Humanitarian Efforts in Gaza

Donald Trump just posted a video explaining the latest controversy over his much-derided ties to Jeffrey Epstein. He called for a ceasefire in the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, condemned the war in Ukraine. Speaking at a press conference earlier this month, Trump claimed that he’s not been “very involved” in the Epstein scandal. He reiterated that nobody has asked him to consider an offering of a pardon to Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s partner in crime.

Trump just did more than raise the stakes on Russia’s war against Ukraine Trump issued a new ultimatum to Russia. He said it would be “more or less 10 or 12 days from today”. His remarks show he’s still very much steeped in international relations as he walks a high wire act in dealing with a toxic geopolitical web. He was reported as saying that he intended to establish “food distribution centres” in Gaza. He called the humanitarian situation there “horrible.” Indeed, Trump shifted the blame for the worsening crisis on to Hamas, accusing them of making the “mess” in the territory. He cited their part in the breakdown of recent ceasefire talks.

During the foreign policy portion of the press conference, Trump repeated his belief that he’s been successful on the international stage. He even brazenly boasted of having ended six wars in nations as diverse as India, Pakistan, Congo and Rwanda. He gave scant public information about these clashes. He urged for negotiations and called for a deal involving Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating, “He’s got to make a deal. Too many people are dying.”

Trump’s statements went even further to influence his huddling with new UK PM Keir Starmer about the need to address the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Rogers noted that as a military strategist, he had counseled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to pursue different tactics in combatting the conflict.

“I told Bibi that you’re going to have to now maybe do it a different way.” – Donald Trump

That’s what the former president suggested he would have done with sanctions against Russia. He raised the specter of potential secondary tariffs if no agreement is made. His comments revealed a personal affinity for the Russian people.

“I’ve always got along with president Putin and had a great relationship with him.” – Donald Trump

Even Trump couldn’t bring himself to criticize French President Emmanuel Macron when he called for Palestinian statehood. His administration took no position on the issue. He shifted focus onto his caught-up in-court legal dramas, including the defamation loan-out court case against outlaw bill payers, The Wall Street Journal. As part of this case, he asked a U.S. judge to speed up the deposition of billionaire Rupert Murdoch.

Trump addressed the long-simmering theme regarding his political enemies. He would point out possible disinformation that could have snuck into the legal records filed against him.

“It’s a hoax that’s been built up way beyond proportion.” – Donald Trump

He insisted that if there were any embarrassing details about him, Democrats would have leaked them ahead of the previous election.

He quipped that it would be great news for his new social media venture Truth Social.

“I don’t do drawings. I’m not a drawing person. I don’t do drawings.” – Donald Trump

As tensions continue to rise globally over various geopolitical issues and humanitarian crises, Trump’s statements reflect his approach to addressing these challenges while navigating his political landscape.
