Trump Proposes Major Immigration Crackdown Following Military Parade

Former President Donald Trump released a 10-point plan to reinforce immigration enforcement. He homes in uniquely on a few large, deep blue, Democratic-run cities like Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. This declaration came shortly after a military parade in Washington, D.C., which celebrated the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army. In fact, Trump recently shared a pretty detailed vision for one over on his Truth Social network. He hopes for a significant uptick in enforcement actions against undocumented immigrants.

Stephen Miller, Trump’s immigration adviser, is calling for a new, audacious initiative. He orders an absolute minimum of 3,000 arrests each and every day. In his third point, Trump told U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to crank up their law enforcement activities by about a bazillion percent. He asserted that cities have become the “core of the Democratic power center,” alleging that they exploit “illegal aliens to expand their voter base.” These falsehoods continue to circulate despite the fact that non-citizens don’t vote in U.S. elections. In addition, there is no convincing evidence proving that they ever cast a vote.

The ex-president should be held accountable for the reasons he politicized the military. His remarks come as he faces growing concerns about how he’s performed in the role of commander-in-chief. As far as some of the spectators at the military parade were concerned, it was kind of … lame. Their responses only flared concerns over Trump’s reckless politicization of our military.

In a massive show of force the County borders Los Angeles trump decreed National Guard troops and U.S. Marines to Los Angeles. He emphasized his commitment to immigration enforcement by announcing plans to allocate tens of billions of dollars to ICE over the next five years. Trump indicated that if the funding bill fails to pass Congress, he would consider redirecting other government funds to ICE.

ICE is already $1 billion over budget. Unless something changes, it’s headed to insolvency in the next one to three months. This new fiscal stress has led to calls for action on behalf of this new ‘crisis’ by Trump and his administration.

“ICE Officers are herewith ordered, by notice of this TRUTH, to do all in their power to achieve the very important goal of delivering the single largest Mass Deportation Program in History,” – Donald Trump

Trump reiterated his administration’s focus on remigration efforts, stating, “Our Federal Government will continue to be focused on the REMIGRATION of Aliens to the places from where they came, and preventing the admission of ANYONE who undermines the domestic tranquility of the United States.” His comments are a troubling harbinger of a return to the hardline anti-immigrant policies that defined much of his presidency.

Second, in his recent communications, Trump has shifted to a more sober consideration of the cost of immigration policy across all sectors. He continued to make the case that both the ag industry and hospitality industry was falling apart. He blamed this to an “aggressive policy on immigration” that removes skilled workers from the labor market.

Here’s how recently Trump’s hardline immigration approach took flight. This reversal brings into doubt both the consistency and practical applicability of his proposed policies. His remarks about local governments have lately sparked additional controversy over how these jurisdictions should deal with immigration issues.

“They’re incompetent, and they paid troublemakers, agitators and insurrectionists,” – Donald Trump

Critics argue that Trump’s framing of the immigration debate oversimplifies complex social issues and distracts from more pressing matters facing local communities. The former president’s rhetoric has created both fervent support and fierce opposition. This reaction illuminates the deeply divisive tug-of-war over immigration policy in American politics.

As Trump moves ahead with these plans, it’s unclear what this all means for the millions of undocumented immigrants currently living in our biggest cities. We can almost guarantee local leaders will be up in arms over many of his proposals. Further, they state that these measures might erode the social fabric of communities and endanger public safety.
